Lisbon is a city where time moves slower than elsewhere, and spring only serves to emphasise all its be- auty. Sprawling over seven hills abo - ve the estuary of the River Tagus, al- most every walk in this city includes some ascents. That’s also why Li - sbon is famous for its observation points, so-called miradouros, which are located on hilltops and provide views of endless red roofs and the ri - ver emptying into the Atlantic. The oldest part of the city is the Alfa- ma district. Its narrow streets, small houses and improvised restaurants make it one of the few parts of Li - sbon that survived the great ear- thquake of 1755. In the evening ho- urs, traditional Portuguese fado music can be heard emanating from taverns. One iconic symbol of the ci- ty is the Belém Tower, which was erected in the early 16 th century, at a time when Portuguese mariners were embarking on voyages of dis - covery to new continents. Located nearby is Jerónimos Monastery, re- presenting one of the most beautiful examples of Manueline architecture. An unforgettable atmosphere is cre- ated by the trams that climb its steep streets, the aroma of coffee and views of the river. Its appeal also lies in fine details – in the sound of tram rails, the colourful tiles of faça- des and the sense that new views will be revealed around every corner.
Grad svetlosti na sedam brda
Lisabon je jedan od onih gradova u kojima se vreme meri sporije, a pro - leće naglašava svu njegovu lepo - tu. Prostire se na sedam brda iznad ušća reke Težo, što znači da goto - vo svaka šetnja uključuje i poneki uspon. Upravo zbog toga Lisabon je poznat po svojim vidikovcima,
takozvanim miraduros, sa kojih se vidi čitav niz crvenih krovova i širo - ka reka koja ulazi u Atlantik. Najstariji deo grada je četvrt Alfa - ma. Uske ulice, male kuće i impro - vizovani restorani čine je jednim od retkih delova Lisabona koji je pre - živeo veliki zemljotres iz 1755. go - dine. Tramvaji koji se penju uz strme uli - ce, miris kafe i pogled na reku stva - raju atmosferu koja deluje neza - boravno. Njegova privlačnost leži u detaljima – u zvuku tih šina, šare - nim pločicama na fasadama i ose - ćaju da se iza svakog ugla otvara novi pogled.
