Zanimljiva vaskršnja tradicija

Interesting Easter tradition

According to the Gregorian calendar, Easter this year falls on 5 th April, while it is on 12 th April according to the Julian calendar. Easter (alongside Christmas) is the most important holiday in Christianity, which commemorates the resur- rection of Jesus Christ. And do you know why it is cele- brated with eggs and bunnies? Easter Eggs: the egg has been a universal sym- bol of many religions for millennia, symbolising new li- fe, rebirth and fertility. Many countries celebrate Easter by organising „egg hunts“, with these eggs often being made of chocolate or made from plastic and filled with sweets. Children hunt for them with joy. Easter Bunny: What animal could better represent springtime fertility than the rabbit, which produces so many offspring? The “Easter bunny” that visits children on Easter morning is an “invention” of German Prote- stants. The symbolism isn’t particularly religious, rather it’s simply something fun to do with children.
