DON’T GET CATFISHED!

CHATGPT CAN CAUSE DIFFICULTIES FOR BUSINESS OWNERS

No matter where you look, technology and artificial intelligence (AI) are everywhere. When you call a business to get updates on your services or track an order, you will probably speak to an automated voice message, making it even more challenging to get answers to your questions. Or, maybe you’re using a chatbot to get updates on a product or service. Either way, communicating with this kind of technology can be frustrating.

“False information isn’t the only ChatGPT issue that business owners could face.”

But that isn’t the only issue we can experience with advanced technology and AI.

be time-consuming and overwhelming. An applicant could spend hours rewriting their resume and cover letters and outlining their different roles and skills. Now, applicants only spend minutes on these tasks because they can use ChatGPT to write letters, mock articles, emails, reviews, and more, essentially making them a more attractive applicant for a job. The use of AI by job applicants makes the task of hiring more difficult. Namely, an applicant who applies might not have the skills and experience they claim to have. So, how do you find authentic talent to join your business? You can use in-person or video interviews to get a feel for the applicant and ensure they are authentic. You can also request that the applicant answer a questionnaire that requests specific responses. Additionally, using programs to help you identify AI-written content can be a huge help. Some services you can look into include Turnitin, Copyleaks, Winston AI, and AI Writing Check. With the fast-growing popularity of ChatGPT and other AI services, it’s important, now more than ever, that you’re careful about using the product. Please check for accuracy if you decide to use it or if you’re looking at resources or applications — you never know what information is true or false!

Recently, a lawyer used ChatGPT to write a legal brief. When writing the brief, he asked the AI to identify cases that supported his client’s legal argument. AI provided the “cases” it identified as supporting their legal position. The attorney relied on AI’s results and used those “cases” in the brief submitted to the court. Upon reviewing the brief, opposing counsel questioned the legal argument, as they couldn’t find the legal cases cited in the brief anywhere. The attorney who filed the brief responded that the cases were real and even included proof: textual snapshots from ChatGPT saying the cases were real. But the opposing side, then the court, still could not find information about these cases. And then, the truth came out. The attorney who cited the cases admitted that he had used ChatGPT to perform legal research and didn’t double-check the sources. Ultimately, AI had simply made up the cases — they were fake. So, what did we learn here? No matter how “smart” AI appears, you should always check the information it is providing. However, false information isn’t the only ChatGPT issue that business owners could face. One of the main concerns entrepreneurs face with the rise of AI is the challenge of recruiting talent to join their team. AI recruitment tools exist, but they are mainly aimed at applicants because searching through what seems to be thousands of pages of openings can

No Food, Beverages, Gum, or High Heels Allowed! HOW GREECE IS PRESERVING ITS ANCIENT SITES If you wanted to pinpoint a civilization that has impacted our society and government in more ways than one, ancient Greece should be one of the first civilizations you think of. The ancient Greeks made significant contributions to philosophy, mathematics, astronomy, medicine, literature, and so much more. Today, you can still visit their magnificent monuments and tour ancient sites — it will surely make you feel like you’ve returned to ancient times! However, if you plan on traveling to Greece, there are a few things you need to know. For example, in 2009, Greek authorities implemented a law stating that you cannot wear high heels while walking around these historic sites. Because these monuments are centuries old, they have experienced a lot of wear and tear. And visitors (or locals) wearing stiletto heels can damage these sites even more with their spiked heels. But that’s not the only law Greek authorities instituted in 2009. You also can’t bring food, drinks, or gum to most of these historical sites. The Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens, Greece, was built in 161 A.D. To this day, it continues to be a stadium for live performances, festivals, and other activities. But in 2009, Greek authorities and the venue’s maintenance crew knew something needed to change. As the crew cleaned up the stadium, they discovered nearly 60 pounds of chewing gum beneath the marble seats. Because of this incident of littering — and many others — Greek officials came up with a solution, and new laws were created. If we want to preserve the history of these places and the culture of the ancient Greeks, continue learning more about them, and use their buildings and stadiums, then we must follow the preventive measures the modern Greeks put in place. So, if you plan on traveling to Greece to see the iconic Parthenon temple, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Temple of Apollo,

Generate More Wealth and Financial Security 3 Methods Business Owners Should Consider One of the main reasons becoming an entrepreneur is attractive is that you can build wealth and secure your financial future. However, there are many moving parts that come with being a business owner — how do you find the right approach so you can generate wealth? INVEST IN YOURSELF. When we say investing, we don’t mean contributing money to a particular stock or business. In this instance, investing means applying your time and effort to activities that will enhance your life and improve your skills. Investing in yourself is paramount for building wealth as a business owner. So, continue to learn new skills, participate in workshops and conferences, work with a coach or mentor, or take in-person or online courses to perfect your craft and network. When you invest in yourself, you equip yourself with the tools you need to make smart decisions for yourself and your business, thus increasing your wealth. BE MINDFUL OF YOUR SPENDING. You may be tempted to spend money freely on business expenses, take yourself and loved ones out on luxurious getaways, or lavishly spend your money on items you may not necessarily need. However, spending your wealth is not how you accumulate and preserve your wealth. While it’s great to splurge occasionally, be mindful of your habits. Try to avoid unnecessary expenses and live below your means. By being frugal, you can invest more into your business, in your future, and other methods that will boost your finances. HAVE SEVERAL STREAMS OF INCOME. If you solely rely on one form of income, it will take you a while to reach your financial, business, and personal goals. On top of having your own business, consider investing in developments or real estate or launching other products or services. When you have money coming from different avenues, new ventures will be less risky since you’re not dependent on one line of income. Another way to accumulate wealth is by protecting your business, and this can be done by working with a business attorney. Costly lawsuits can occur at any time, and the best way to prevent them is to have someone by your side who can create and review contracts and processes that may cause litigation. If you or someone you know is looking for a business attorney to assist them, please don’t hesitate to contact us today!

DON’T LET YOUR EMOTIONS GET THE BEST OF YOU. The best thing to do is take a deep breath, relax, and watch where the cards fall. Letting the dust settle allows you to gain a clearer perspective and think more logically about the situation rather than emotionally. EMBRACE YOUR HARDSHIPS. HOW EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES BENEFIT YOUR KIDS UNLOCK A WORLD OF OPPORTUNITIES

As children return to school in August, they’ll likely be interested in one or more extracurricular activities. Opportunities both in school and in the community are numerous, such as participating in a local play, joining a school club or sports team, and many others. Extracurricular activities are perfect for getting kids out of the house, but these ventures will also help them gain valuable experiences along with these three benefits. IMPROVES SOCIAL SKILLS One of the biggest concerns parents have had since we experienced lockdowns during the pandemic is that their children struggle to communicate with others. Most of these kids were away from their peers for a year or more, which weakened their social skills. Participating in an extracurricular activity gives your kids a chance to communicate with others outside of a school setting.
