HOW CAN YOU OVERCOME THEM?

The only thing certain about life is that it will be full of obstacles. No matter who you are, what career you have, or the life path you’re currently on, there will come a time when you must face challenges. However, finding the strength to endure and overcome these roadblocks can be a struggle in itself.

annoyed, angry, sad, or fearful regarding your hardships — and that’s understandable. However, experiencing challenging times allows you to practice perseverance and adaptability, two vital skills that will help you daily. Now, this doesn’t mean you have to enjoy the hardships you’re experiencing, but instead, show gratitude for the things in your life, the avenues available to you, and the opportunity for growth. As you practice gratitude, you may realize your challenges aren’t as big or severe as they seem. ASK FOR HELP. You never have to go through your battles alone. There are people around you who will help and support you in any way they can — all you have to do is ask. Asking for help can be difficult because people may view it as a sign of weakness. But it actually shows great strength! You’re able to acknowledge when something is too much to bear on your own. So, never be afraid to ask for advice or assistance. While it’s understandable that you want to solve the problem as soon as possible, moving too fast can cause these challenges to grow and become even harder to overcome. The best thing to do is take a deep breath, relax, and watch where the cards fall. Letting the dust settle allows you to gain a clearer perspective and think more logically about the situation rather than emotionally. EMBRACE YOUR HARDSHIPS. RASPBERRY AND FIG OAT BARS

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

2 eggs, beaten

1/4 cup cornstarch 1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp vanilla extract 1/4 cup raspberry jam 1 1/3 cups raspberries 3 figs, quartered 1 tbsp turbinado or brown sugar

1 cup and 1 tbsp rolled oats, divided 2 sticks chilled unsalted butter, diced

2/3 cup caster sugar (superfine granulated)

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease and line an 8x12-inch pan with parchment paper. 2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and 1 cup oats. Using your fingertips, rub in butter until crumbly. Stir in caster sugar, then add egg and vanilla. Stir until clumpy. 3. In the pan, smooth three-quarters of the mixture evenly. Spread jam over the top, then add fruit. Mix leftover oat mixture with turbinado sugar and remaining oats, then sprinkle over the fruit. 4. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then slice and serve.
