Group lessons consist of up to eight free 30-minute classes, limited to 1 session a year/child, on a first-come/first served basis. Additional lessons available for a fee at the Sunrise Civic Center. NO make-up lessons due to inclement weather. City of Sunrise paid private lessons from January - March are not available. Registration: *Registration on Tuesday, March 10. Registration accepted in-person at the Sunrise Civic Center 10:00 am - 7:00 pm. Do not mail or fax registrations. Copy of birth certificate & parent/guardian driver’s license and current utility bill for proof of Sunrise residency required.

Level Descriptions • Age 3: Includes submerging face in the water; gliding on front and back with support; and beginning arm strokes and kicks. • Ages 4-5: Includes floating independently; gliding on front and back; rolling over and floating for five seconds with support; combining arm and leg action on front and back with support; entering and exiting the water independently; and using combined arm and leg action for five body lengths independently.
Ages 6+, Levels – Skills are checked at the first lesson to confirm that swimmers are in the appropriate level. • Level 1 – Introduction to Water Skills: Includes submerging entire head; gliding on front and back with support; combining arm and leg action on front and back with support. • Level 2 – Fundamental Aquatic Skills: Includes treading water; gliding independently; floating on front and back for five seconds independently; using combined arm and leg action on front and back for five body lengths independently. • Ages 16+, Adult & Teen Swim – Skills are checked the first day of lesson. Our program gives adult and teen swimmers at every level the opportunity to improve their skills in a safe environment.
