New Year Celebration & Year-end Awards
Our hotel concluded the year with a festive New Year Celebration & Year-end Awards Ceremony. The event featured recognitions for outstanding colleagues, including those with exceptional guest comments and Hidden Heroes. Five-year service milestones were acknowledged, and the Employees of the Year, Aykut Turan and Gokcen Gokce , were honored. The Department of the Year award went to Security for their commitment to safety. The celebration continued with a delightful buffet, a Lucky Draw, and a reflection on the year's achievements, embracing the possibilities of 2024. Otelimiz yılı senlikli bir Yeni Yıl Kutlaması ve Yıl Sonu Ödül Töreni ile tamamladı. Etkinlikte, olaganüstü misafir yorumlarına ve Gizli Kahraman adaylıgına sahip olanlar da dahil olmak üzere birçok çalısanımız takdir edildi. Bes yılını dolduran çalısanlarımız tebrik edilirken Yılın Çalısanları Aykut Turan ve Gökçen Gökçe de onurlandırıldı. Yılın Departmanı olarak Güvenlik departmanımız seçildi. Kutlama, keyifli bir büfe, çekilis ile devam ederken yılın basarılarına deginilerek 2024'ün getirecegi yeni basarı dilekleriyle sonlandı.

10th Year Anniversary Party! As our country marks its 100th-year milestone, we find ourselves experiencing another remarkable anniversary this year — our own story of a decade of excellence. In the heart of our hotel beats a rhythm of togetherness, growth, and the joyous moments shared with our wonderful colleagues. These 10 years have been a testament to the dedication and passion of our team, turning moments into memories. To honor this milestone, we recently hosted a spectacular party, a cheerful gathering that echoed with joy and the shared spirit that defines our Shangri-La Family. Here's to a decade of hospitality from heart and countless moments of celebration with our incredible colleagues! Join us in thanking everyone who has been a part of our journey. Ülkemiz 100. yılını kutlarken, bu yıl kendimizi bir başka dikkate değer yıldönümünü yaşarken buluyoruz; kendi on yıllık mükemmellik hikayemiz. Otelimizin kalbinde birlikteliğin, büyümenin ve harika çalışma arkadaşlarımızla paylaştığımız keyifli anların ritmi atıyor. We had wonderful time in our early morning breakfast event where we had a chance to engage with our night shift colleagues, joined by all our colleagues on morning shift in the following hours. Thanks to all our leaders and colleagues for their participation and our Kitchen team for making it possible. Gece vardiyasında çalışan arkadaşlarımızla sohbet etme fırsatı bulduğumuz, ilerleyen saatlerde sabah vardiyasındaki tüm çalışma arkadaşlarımızın da katıldığı, sabah kahvaltı etkinliğimizde harika vakit geçirdik.

Global Townhall - Q4 2023
2023's final Global Townhall was held on December 18th by our Senior Leaders in HQ. Thank you to all our colleagues for participation. Giovanni Chef at Gastronomy Conference Gastronomi Konferansı’nın Özel Konugu: Giovanni Sef!
Our own Executive Chef, Giovanni Terracciano, had the honor of participating in the panel discussion of the 8th International Gastromasa Gastronomy Conference titled "Meeting Guest Expectations in Italian Restaurants & Fidelity to Italian Tradition." His invaluable contribution to the discussion on Saturday, November 4th, highlighted the richness of Italian gastronomy. We are immensely proud of his representation at this prestigious event. Executive Şefimiz Giovanni Terracciano, 8. Uluslararası Gastromasa Gastronomi Konferansı’nda "İtalyan Restoranlarında Misafir Beklentilerini Karşılamak ve İtalyan Geleneğine Sadakat" başlıklı panel tartışmasına katılma onuruna sahip oldu. 4 Kasım Cumartesi günü gerçekleşen panele paha biçilemez katkısı, İtalyan gastronomi zenginliğini vurguladı. Onun bu prestijli etkinlikte yer almasından son derece gurur duyuyoruz.

We have developed a comprehensive learning program for our new colleagues, encompassing 21 sessions of The Shangri-La Orientation, which have been conducted for 174 new colleagues this year. THE SHANGRI-LA ORIENTATION Shangri-La Oryantasyon Egitimi Bu yıl yeni çalışanlarımız için kapsamlı bir öğrenme programı geliştirerek, toplam 174 yeni çalışanımız için 21 Shangri-La Oryantasyon eğitimi gerçekleştirdik.

Attending the career event at Özyeğin University was a remarkable experience like every year. As Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul HR team, we had the privilege of engaging with hospitality and gastronomy students. The enthusiasm and passion displayed by the students were truly impressive. It was a valuable opportunity to share insights, discuss career paths, and explore potential collaborations with the future leaders of the hospitality industry.

Yet another successful Career Event unfolded at Shangri-La, in collaboration with İstanbul University Tourism Management students. We warmly welcomed these aspiring future hoteliers to acquaint them with the essence of luxury Asian Hospitality. Our esteemed leaders provided valuable insights, addressing questions not only about the hotel but also the broader sector. The event concluded with an enriching hotel tour, offering a deeper understanding of our exceptional product and the top- notch experiences we craft for our guests. A heartfelt thanks to all the students who joined us!
İstanbul Üniversitesi Turizm İşletmeciliği öğrencileri iş birliğiyle Shangri-La'da başarılı bir Kariyer Etkinliği daha gerçekleştirdik. Geleceğin bu hevesli otelcilerini, onlara lüks Asya Misafirperverliğinin özünü tanıtmak için sıcak bir şekilde karşıladık. Sunumlarıyla öğrencileri aydınlatan liderlerimiz, sadece otelle ilgili değil sektörle ilgili sorulara da değinerek değerli bilgiler paylaştı. Indian Cuisine - Culinary Center of Excellence Workshop Shangri-La New Delhi’de Hint Yemekleri Egitimi
Our Executive Sous Chef, Derviş Sarıoğlu participated in 2-Day Indian Cuisine Workshop in Shangri-La New Delhi to further hone the understanding of Indian cuisine, gain insights about Indian cooking techniques and best- practices that can be implemented at our hotel. This training program also created an opportunity to be inspired by an immersive experience of the best authentic local eateries in New Delhi. Executive Sous Chef’imiz Derviş Sarıoğlu, Hint mutfağı anlayışını daha da geliştirmek, Hint yemek pişirme teknikleri ve otelimizde uygulanabilecek iyi uygulamalar hakkında bilgi edinmek için Shangri-La New Delhi'deki 2 günlük Hint Mutfağı Atölyesine katıldı. Bu eğitim programı aynı zamanda New Delhi'deki en iyi otantik yerel restoranlardan ilham alma fırsatı da yarattı.
Sales Op Specialist Training Workshop Shangri-La Bangkok’ta Satıs Egitimi
In response to strong requests from Hotels & Regions for additional training to support the usage of our various Sales systems & tools in a more structured & effective way, HQ Sales organized Sales Op Specialist Training Workshop in October 4th and 5th at Shangri-La Bangkok. Our Corporate Sales Executive, Neslişah Bilgin Cin joined the training as representative of our hotel! Çeşitli Satış sistemlerimiz ve araçlarımızın daha yapılandırılmış ve etkili bir şekilde kullanımını desteklemek amacıyla Oteller ve Bölgelerden gelen ek eğitim yönündeki güçlü taleplere yanıt olarak, Genel Merkez Satış Departmanı, 4 ve 5 Ekim tarihlerinde Shangri- La Bangkok'ta Satış Operasyon Uzmanı Eğitimi düzenledi. Kurumsal Satış Yetkilimiz Neslişah Bilgin Cin otelimizi temsilen eğitime katıldı!
First Aid Refresher Training İ lk Yardım Tazeleme Egitimi
In October we completed our First Aid Refresher Training with our colleagues. We would like to thank all our participants for their utmost attention during the session, we are proud to call them “certified first aiders” with their renewed licenses!

Fire Drill Yangın Tatbikatı
Our commitment to ensure our colleagues are agile in case of emergency situations is ongoing. We will continue our fire drills this year to be alert at all times. Safety First! 45th Istanbul Marathon Tohum Otizm Vakfı için Istanbul Maratonu’ndayız!
As the collective of Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul, we actively participated in the 45th Istanbul Marathon, dedicating our run to the cause of supporting the Tohum Otizm Vakfı. Our mission was rooted in the belief that every child deserves an equal opportunity, especially through the transformative power of education. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the generous volunteers who not only ran alongside us but also contributed generously to the cause.
Shangri-La Bosphorus İstanbul gönüllüleri olarak 45. İstanbul Maratonu'na katılarak koşumuzu Tohum Otizm Vakfı'na destek olmaya adadık. Amacımız, özellikle eğitimin dönüştürücü gücü sayesinde her çocuğun eşit fırsatı hak ettiği inancına dayanıyordu. Pink October Meme Kanseri Farkındalık Ayı: Ekim Pink Together, Stronger Forever! As per our annual tradition, we gathered this October to raise awareness among our colleagues. Each of them received Pink October-themed mugs, and we commemorated the occasion with a special cake cutting ceremony. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the ladies who joined us for this meaningful event. Our commitment to sustainability was also highlighted, as we are aiming to reduce the use of paper cups by replacing them with these glass mugs for consuming regular beverages. It's crucial to remember that early diagnosis and effective treatment are paramount in combating breast cancer, which not only affects women but also poses a threat to men's health. At Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul, we remain dedicated to spreading awareness by educating our colleagues about the risk factors associated with breast cancer and stressing the vital role of regular screenings. 💕 Birlikte Pembe, Sonsuza Kadar Güçlü! Our hotel embarked on a heartwarming journey to our Embrace Partner KACUV, The Hope Foundation for Children with Cancer. Amidst laughter and joy, we shared moments of love, creating cherished memories that illuminated the faces of these resilient children. In the spirit of generosity, we adorned the day with not just smiles but also gifts, wrapping each child in the warmth of compassion and the joy of a shared celebration.

Shangri La has got to be one of the warmest hotel experiences I have personally experienced. Right from its strategic location to its service oriented staff to its clean and comfortable rooms, everything was on point. I am especially amazed at the level of personalisation and the warmth that each staff member exudes. I want to specially mention the awesome Emircan who helped with our luggage and get us inducted into the room. Shangri La at the Bosphorus follows exceptional standards of guest comfort. Highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Istanbul.

We have stayed in various Shangrila properties over the years and were impressed with the level of service which we received at Shangrila Istanbul Bosphorus. We wish to praise your attentive staff, mainly Derya who always had a bright smile and was always to assist during breakfast. Bilal and Hakan at Shang Palace also made our dinner very enjoyable.
