CountyStat

The CountyStat office was created in 2015 to modernize the county’s use of data in the management of its operations and service delivery, using business intelligence software, process improvement techniques, and data analytics. CountyStat also collaborates with both the City of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh to support the Western Pennsylvania Regional Data Center (WPRDC). WPRDC hosts the open data web-based platform for both the county and the City of Pittsburgh, as well as other government agencies and non-profit organizations in the region. WPRDC houses more than 300 datasets at www.wprdc.org. The CountyStat unit is staffed by eight people, fulfilling roles such as: director of performance and analytics, coordinators of strategic analytics and process improvement, manager of strategic special projects, data engineer, and CountyStat analysts. ABOUT To provide analyses, analytic tools and training that enable the County Manager and executive departments to make data-informed decisions that will improve operations, provide quality services, lower costs, and increase revenues. The team also facilitates the use of data in the community by supporting and enhancing the Western Pennsylvania Regional Data Center. MISSION
