TALENT ACQUISITION/EMPLOYMENT TEAM DEVELOPMENT In 2022, Human Resources dedicated a new team of talent acquisition specialists to work in partnership with the HR Employment team and with other county departments. Talent acquisition encompasses recruitment and outreach, as well as effective orientation and onboarding activities and processes that help to retain and develop successful employees. Newly added positions include a Supervisor for Talent Acquisition/Employment and a Talent Acquisition Specialist, as well as enhanced responsibilities for the Workforce Diversity Specialist. These new resources allowed HR to increase public awareness of county job opportunities by participating in more career events, job fairs and information sessions than in the past. In addition, the HR Department has begun to research, analyze and implement more effective methods for sourcing candidates and to develop strategies and comprehensive plans to attract diverse talent for positions across the county. Human Resources Program Spotlights HUMAN RESOURCES INFORMATION SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION HR had a lead role in the implementation of a new Human Resource Information System (HRIS), called Infor Cloud Suite HCM. The new HRIS will streamline multiple HR-related functions within one system and provide comprehensive integration with other county systems, allow more effective time management by staff, improve transparency, quality, accuracy, accessibility and security of county data, and improve service delivery through automation and centralization of data. The core HR team worked to set up the organization structure and rules within the system so that it will encompass all of the core HR functions, as well building the talent management module that provides the tools to manage HR from recruiting to hiring, salary awarding and performance assessment. VIRTUAL CAREER FAIRS In 2022, several virtual career fairs were held with the goal of exploring new ways to match diverse talent with county career opportunities.The spring career fair was held in April, and allowed over 1500 registered users to view available positions and career paths within Allegheny County, ask questions, chat with department representatives, and even schedule interviews. Two additional V-Fairs were held on August 16th which had 277 attendees and October 16th with 180 attendees spotlighting careers in Health and Wellbeing and Public Safety. Another countywide V-Fair was held on December 16th, attracting 618 registrants from all over the region.
