Information Technology

The Department of Information Technology (DIT) advises and assists its customers at all stages of the technology life cycle including defining requirements for, selecting, implementing/ integrating, and using information technology. DIT’s business analysts and technical coordinators identify goals, use knowledge of business processes and existing systems, and research current industry best practices and compliance mandates to assist county departments with cost- effective technologies. The Department of Information Technology has 106 employees. These individuals fill many roles: address management administrator, business analyst, data security coordinator, GIS analyst, network engineer, project manager, software engineer, senior applications analyst, systems engineer, and web developer. To enable the Allegheny County departments to fulfill business and constituent services by providing leadership and support for the integration of technology, data, and cyber security in a cost-effective, innovative manner while remaining flexible to ever-changing needs and requirements.
