ZeroMist Oil Mist Collector
Traditional Solutions
Mechanical Filtration • Mesh pre-filter, metal impingement filter, & ASHRAE or MERV bag / envelope filters • 70% to 80% efficiency on submicronic particulate • Require DOP or HEPA final filter • Excessive maintenance costs from frequent filter changes required due to stress on final filters Electrostatic Precipitators • Operate with high voltage power supply to create electrostatic field • 95% Efficient on submicronic particulate, but require a tandem pass to handle process loads • precipitators will often require frequent maintenance / downtime for cleaning Centrifugal Stacked Disc • Rotational force with direct drive motors • Limited to particulate Over 1.0 Micron • Requires external HEPA or DOP final filter for recirculation • Require special pre-filtration for solid particulate to protect the disc stack • Limited to machine tool sized applications
Primary Risks • Oil Mist can contain small metallic particles, bacteria, and spores that give rise to respiratory problems. • Oil mist can cause skin problems including acne and eczema. • If untreated, oil mist eventually settles on the floor, increasing the risk of slip injuries in a plant. • Oil Mist can accumulate on surfaces inside HVAC Systems, which will impair its function, efficiency, filter life, and cause premature failures. • Oil Mist can harm electronic circuity and optical sensors in modern metalworking machines.
Technology Comparison
CENTRIFUGAL 10% to 90% Efficiency Outlet: 3 to 27 mg/m3
