Suggested Learning Projects:
Î Journal-Based Coaching: Assign your coaching target to keep a running journal as they navigate implementing creativity into their customer and prospect outreach. The entries in the journal should note successful creative strategies and the specific actions they took to make them successful. They should also note any challenges that they face while striving to become more creative and the specific ways in which they will address those challenges. Î Peer-to-Peer Coaching: Ask the employee to meet with a new peer each week to learn new ways to reach out to their customers and prospects. What takeaways from their conversations with their peers can they put into practice on their own? What did they learn from their peers about the challenges they might face and how to address them?
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
Î 30-Second Coaching: When you have the opportunity to observe a particularly creative effort by the individual when reaching out to a customer or prospect, share with them how their actions are appreciated. Pay attention to the outcome of their efforts — did something positive come out of their creative outreach? If so, let them know specifically how their actions will lead to further positive outcomes.
