Suggested Learning Projects:

Î Peer-to-Peer Coaching: Assign your coaching target to meet with a peer once in the coming week to practice having efficient conversations with customers, based on the definition discussed at the beginning of your coaching session. Give them specific scenarios you would like them to practice with their peer and ask them to share the definition of efficient conversations with them at the start of the meeting. Have them ask their peer for feedback on what they did well, as what they might be able to improve. They should email you after the meeting, copying their peer on the email, with the feedback that they received and how they might apply that feedback to their real conversations with customers. Î Tangible Successes: Ask the employee to come back to your next coaching session with three examples of situations during the week in which they took actions that were discussed in your whiteboard activity to work toward becoming efficient in their conversations with customers.

Supplemental Coaching Strategies:

Î 30-Second Coaching: Take 30 seconds to verbally acknowledge improvements or even efforts made by the individual to become more efficient in their conversations as they put the definition discussed into practice. Be specific in sharing with them the actions taken by the individual and why those actions are appreciated by you.
