Suggested Learning Projects:

Î Journal-Based Coaching: Have the team members practice the areas of concern that you discussed in the whiteboard activity and role played together throughout the week in their daily activities. Have them journal daily two successes and two challenges they encounter and summarize their journal entries to you in an email at the end of the week. Î Peer-to-Peer Coaching: Ask each person in the group to practice the skills from the whiteboard activity with another team member. Peer work allows comradery, as well as skill building techniques that may not come to mind if the individual is working alone.

Supplemental Coaching Strategies:

Î Non-Verbal Coaching: Write the individual/team a note and leave it on their desk when you notice them exhibiting the behaviors and skills that were brainstormed in the activities section. Be specific in describing what they did, when, and why it was appreciated. Î Celebrate Success: When your team accomplishes a goal, celebrate through positive reinforcement with whatever celebration the team came up with in your initial conversations. This builds buy in from the beginning and allows the team to have a shared goal that is fun and can be non-work related.
