Suggested Learning Projects:
Î Peer-to-Peer Coaching: Assign your coaching target to meet with a peer that they trust once in the coming week to role play practice examples with them for extra practice. Have the employee email you after the meeting with three things that they feel they did well in the practice and three things that they could have improved upon. Î Tangible Successes: Ask the employee to come back to your next coaching session with two examples of times during the week where they put their practice into real-life situations at work. They should be prepared to discuss specifically what the situation was, how they approached the situation, and what the effect of addressing the conflict was.
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
Î 30-Second Coaching: Take 30 seconds to acknowledge positive progress and effort to address conflict by the person you are coaching. Let them know specifically what actions they took that you have observed, and how those actions will be beneficial to them.
