Acknowledging Weaknesses to Peers
Suggested Strategy: Ask Risk-Based questions to help the individual realize what the outcome may be in hiding their weaknesses and how being transparent will benefit the team.
Suggested Questions:
Î Rating Question: On a scale of one to six, with six being that you are completely transparent with your peers in things you may struggle with, and one being that you do not share any weaknesses with your peers, where would you rate yourself and why? Î Risk Question: What risks do you think you might assume by not being transparent with your peers? Î Success Imperative: What actions do you think we can take together to help you be successful in your relationships with your peers and to help the team become successful in helping you reach a six?
Suggested Activities:
Î Whiteboard Coaching: On the left side of a whiteboard, write down the description that the individual would currently assign to themselves related to their ability to be transparent with their peers in their weakest areas. On the right side, write down how they would ideally like to be described by their peers as it relates to transparency with them. Erase the left side of the board and write down the actions that the individual is willing to take to build a transparent relationship with the team.
