Behaviors Impacting Performance
Suggested Strategy: Getting others to see how behaviors influence performance is like getting someone to look in the mirror. Use the outside in approach to guide this self-reflection. Use this Coaching Map in a group coaching session.
Suggested Questions:
Î Third-Party Coaching: If another team could give us feedback as it relates to our current behaviors, what do you think they would say? Why do you think they would give us the feedback they did? Î Risk Question: What risks do we assume if we don’t make any changes to our current behaviors? Î Self-Actualized Question: What do we need to do as a team to help make a change for the better?
Suggested Activities:
Î Define & Coach: Come up with shared definitions of your team’s goals and nail down corresponding behaviors. One person’s definition of being helpful may be someone else’s bare minimum. Î Role Play: Using the shared definitions from the activity above, practice some situations that cause the most issues at work. This works best if you brainstorm where those behaviors are most prevalent prior to engaging in the role play.
