Participation in Team Meetings
Suggested Strategy: The focus should be on the trust amongst the members of the team — if members are not engaged, how will the other members of the team respond?
Suggested Questions:
Î Third-Party Question: How do you think your teammates would describe your behavior in our team meetings? How might this affect their relationships with you? Î Self-Actualized Question: How might your behavior in team meetings correlate with your performance and attitude outside of our meetings?
Suggested Activities:
Î Whiteboard Coaching: By using a whiteboard to map out how actions can affect results regarding participation, you give the employee something to look at other than your eyes, which makes the conversation less intimidating. Write out a strategy together for your coaching target to follow to improve their engagement in team meetings, keeping their focus on the goal of giving their teammates a positive perception.
