Suggested Learning Projects:

Î Peer-to-Peer Coaching: Ask the employee to meet with one different peer that they interact with per week. Their meeting should include a conversation revolving around asking their peer for input on some part of their relationship. Assign the employee to email you after each meeting with what input they had received and what strategy they will implement to improve on that aspect of their relationship with that peer. Î Observational Coaching: Ask this individual to observe the relationships between their peers — what portions of those relationships revolve around seeking input? How does the relationship benefit from each individual seeking input from the other? How does the team benefit? Discuss these observations at your next coaching session.

Supplemental Coaching Strategies:

Î Non-Verbal Coaching: Leave the employee a hand-written note at their workstation or send it home with them when you observe efforts or improvements made in their confidence in asking for input from their peers. Be specific in sharing their actions that you have observed and how those actions will benefit the individual as well as the team.
