Suggested Learning Projects:
Î Journal-Based Coaching: Have your employee journal their progress to reach their goals. Frame this in a weekly format by requiring them to summarize their thoughts into: two successes, two challenges, one observation. Î Peer-to-Peer Coaching: Set this employee up with someone you have had success within the past of getting them to slow down and be more patient. Have the two of them meet once or twice a week and have the employee you’re working with journal two successes, two challenges, and one area they observed that they didn’t consider prior to working with them.
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
Î Non-Verbal Coaching: Write the employee a note and leave it on their desk when you see that he/she is tackling what is asked of them in their job based on the description you discussed in your session — be specific in what they are doing well and why it is appreciated by you. Î 30-Second Coaching: Ultimately, you want people like this in your organization. Demonstrate to them you love their passion for their career by involving them in the process of growth by taking 30 seconds to share your observations of their improvement through specific actions taken by your coaching target to improve in their patience.
