Î Observational Coaching: Have the employee observe teammates that have mastered the art of the coaching conversation. This will boil down to the techniques that you came up with in the above activity. Does the person they are observing demonstrate active listening skills? Do they empathize? Î Peer-to-Peer Coaching: Peer work allows comradery, as well as skill building techniques that may not come to mind if the individual is working alone. Have your coaching target meet with a new peer each week to discuss their strategies in having successful coaching conversations to motivate others. What can your coaching target take away from their conversations to implement into their own coaching conversations?

Supplemental Coaching Strategies:

Î 30-Second Coaching: Let this person know when they are making positive strides toward the goal of complete success. Take 30 seconds to tell them specifically what they’ve done well and how their actions are appreciated by you and the team.
