Î Journal-Based Coaching: Ask the employee to keep a journal in the coming weeks — the entries should include observations around the office. These observations should describe times where this person observed teammates participating in office gossip. What effect does this person think that the gossip might eventually have on the office culture?Did this person participate in the gossip at some point? How does not participating make this person feel?
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
Î Observational Coaching: This, in relation to Journal-Based Coaching, allows for the person you are coaching to look outwardly on the office culture and what they are doing as a teammate to help the culture get to the ideal description that you talked about in your Whiteboard Coaching activity from the coaching session. They should be able to take a step back and think before participating.
