Positive Client Relationships
Suggested Strategy: Use a Define & Coach Strategy to set the expectations of what it means to build positive relationships with clients. Positive to one person may have a completely different meaning from another.
Suggested Questions:
Î Define & Coach: When I say the phrase positive client relationships, what definition do you think you might assign to it? What does building positive relationships with clients mean to you? Î Risk Question: What risks do you think you might mitigate by adopting that definition in your own relationships with clients? Î Self-Actualized Question: What actions are you committed to taking to ensure that you are practicing this definition, and how will those actions benefit you in your position?
Suggested Activities:
Î Whiteboard Coaching: On the left side of a whiteboard, write down how this person currently builds relationships with clients. On the right side of the board, write down how the individual would describe what building positive relationships with clients would ideally look like based on the previously discussed definition. Then, erase the left side of the board and brainstorm together a list of actions that the employee must take to reach that ideal description on the right side of the board.
