Suggested Learning Projects:
Î Self-Directed Learning: Ask the individual to evaluate their consistency when selling and where they believe the inconsistencies in their performance might be stemming from — on days where they feel as though they are inconsistent from other days, ask them to determine why they are feeling that way on that particular day. Their inconsistencies could be stemming from something outside of the office as well, and this exercise will help the individual decide on their own if that is a possibility. How can they specifically maintain progress and consistency? Î Journal-Based Coaching: Throughout the week, have the employee keep a journal entry noting instances of consistency amongst their peers in the office. How does that consistency frame his/her view of their peers? Bring the journal entries to your next coaching session for discussion.
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
Î Non-Verbal Coaching: Leave the employee a hand-written note on their desk after a stretch of consistent performance to let them know what they have specifically done well.
