Î Tangible Successes: Assign your coaching target to come back to your next coaching session with three examples of ways where they used their influence on their peers in a positive way. What specific actions did they take in that situation to use their influence appropriately?
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
Î Non-Verbal Coaching: Leave the employee a hand-written note at their workstation upon observing them using their influence positively with peers. Be specific in sharing the actions that the employee had taken, as well as how those actions will be beneficial to both the employee and the team. Î Journal-Based Coaching: Ask the individual you are coaching to keep a running journal throughout the coming weeks noting situations where they felt confident in using their influence with a peer. What was the outcome of the situation? What did they feel that they did well, and what do they feel they could have improved for next time?
