Suggested Learning Projects:
Î Tangible Successes: Ask the employee to come back to your next coaching session with three examples of times during the week where they felt most successful in learning something about their position or executing a task or project that they felt helped to push them forward toward reaching their new goals. Î Journal-Based Coaching: Assign your coaching target to keep a journal in the coming weeks as they learn more about their position and become more comfortable with the tasks they are assigned. The journal entries should include examples of confidence found during the workday in developing in their position.
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
Î Non-Verbal Coaching: Set the tone for positive development and your investment in their improvement by sending a hand-written note home with the employee recognizing their efforts as they become more comfortable in their job role. Be specific in letting them know what actions you have observed and the effects on their confidence in their job role. Î Observational Coaching: Ask the employee to observe their peers throughout the week to pick up on any strategies or ideas that they can put into place in their own day-to-day to become more comfortable and confident in their job role.
