Suggested Strategy: Have this coaching conversation in a group setting, utilizing a Whiteboard Coaching activity to help gain engagement and ownership from the team of their own progress.
Suggested Questions:
Î Rating Question: On a scale of one to six, with six representing that we are a well-oiled machine, and we meet all of our goals and one representing that we lack all efficiency, where would you honestly rate our team as it relates to being efficient in our workdays? Î Third-Party Question: If someone outside of our team were to observe our efficiency, what do you think they might honestly say?
Suggested Activities:
Î Whiteboard Coaching: On the left side of the board, write down suggestions from the team about how they think they feel the group currently fares in efficiency. Have the members of the team pair up and discuss what they believe the ideal efficiency for the team would look like. After a few minutes of discussion, have the pairs share their descriptions and write them on the right side of the board, taking note of any common themes. Then, erase the left side of the board and have the team brainstorm together ideas for actions to take as a group to reach the ideal description on the right side of the board.
