Suggested Learning Projects:

Î Non-Verbal Coaching: Starting at the beginning of the week, have employees write down quick, encouraging messages on a post-it, and place it in someone else’s workspace when they’re away. A t the end of the week, have employees summarize two takeaways from the activity and email them to the whole team. Î Observational Coaching: Have each employee observe at least one other person on their team for ten minutes. Then, have them summarize one thing they learned and email you directly. Î Self-Directed Learning: Have each member of the team read the trust chapter in The Five Dysfunctions of a Team . Have employees summarize one point that really resonated with them, and one they took issue with and why. Then, have the employees email you and CC everyone else on the team to share their summaries.

Supplemental Coaching Strategies:

Î Team Lunches: This doesn’t have to be anything fancy, but even eating lunch outside, or bringing food in to share will create an environment where employees get to know each other outside of the office atmosphere.
