Suggested Learning Projects:
Î Tangible Successes: Assign your coaching target to come back to your next coaching session with three examples of situations during the work week where they felt they were required to be professional with a teammate. Did the interaction have a factor of trust built into it? What was the outcome of the interaction when they utilized professionalism as defined by the beginning of your coaching conversation?
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
Î Observational Coaching: Ask the employee to observe their peers throughout the coming week — in what situations do they feel like their peers practiced professionalism? Was there a trust factor involved in those interactions? What takeaways can the individual put into practice in building on their own professionalism to build trust in their relationships with their teammates? Î Non-Verbal Coaching: Leave the employee a hand-written note at their workstation when you have the opportunity to observe them using professionalism to build a trusting relationship with a peer. Be specific in sharing with them the actions that you had observed and how those actions will not only benefit the individual, but the team as well.
