Green Light: Let’s Get Going
1. When it comes to conflict do you know what to do specifically from a framework standpoint? Meaning do you have a model or an approach you use? 2. Typically, people answer no, so the question can be what if I teach you a framework, what is your willingness to practice it so conflict can be more comfortable for you?
Yellow Light: Needs Attention
1. What are you going to do to calmly interact with that teammate to ensure it’s a conversation and not one with an emotional reaction? 2. What is the value of having a calm conversation versus one filled with conflict and emotion?
Red Light: Needs Immediate Attention
1. I’m going to share with you a specific opportunity that needs to improve immediately, and I’m going to ask you to reflect on what I’m about to share with you, and we’ll get back together tomorrow. You need to improve your ability to approach your teammates calmly and professionally and without emotion, and what are you willing and specifically able to do to facilitate this? 2. What is the specific barrier to your ability to calmly interact with teammates when there is disagreement, and how can we improve that in a very short time period?
