Green Light: Let’s Get Going

1. Next week come in with two examples where you received and accepted feedback that you found informative, and what success did you experience from them. 2. Next week come in with two examples of where you sought out feedback and felt the coaching experience was beneficial to you, and what success you experienced from them.

Yellow Light: Needs Attention

1. Knowing we need to improve our overall coachability and accepting feedback, next week come in with two examples where you received and accepted feedback in a thoughtful and professional way, and what successes you experienced because of that. 2. Keeping in mind we need to improve our overall coachability and receiving feedback, next week come in with 1 specific example where you struggled with a suggestion or feedback you received, and what specific steps will you take moving forward to embrace that in the future. Include what barriers were keeping you from embracing that feedback more positively, and steps we can take to remove those barriers.

Red Light: Needs Immediate Attention

1. Knowing we need to improve our overall coachability and accepting feedback in a very short time period, come in tomorrow with two specific examples where you received and accepted feedback in a positive way that resulted in success. 2. Tomorrow, come in with 1 specific example where you struggled to accept feedback or with a suggestion, and what specific steps you’re going to take very quickly to improve your coachability that will lead you to success in the future. 3. Ask one teammate each week for the next four weeks for feedback on your project or your interactions, and the only thing you can say is “Thank you.” No defense, no rebuttal, nothing more than “Thank you.” Write down their feedback, and think of specific steps to improve.
