Feedback
Suggestions to Start
1. Deploy feedback progressions. A feedback progression is first starting out with strengths and building up to areas where there are opportunities to improve. Ask people on the team to seek strength- based feedback from teammates four or five times. After each time, have them share with you in an e-mail what they learned. 2. After the strength-based feedback, then provide a structured format, such as asking for opportunities where they can improve. Repeat the same process where they share with you a summation of what they learned. 3. The key to this activity is to deploy a rule of engagement so when people get their feedback, they can only say “thank you” in return (no rebuttal, no defenses, etc.)
More Aggressive Suggestions
1. Use the book The Ideal Team Player by Patrick Lencioni. Ask people on your team to read a chapter every two weeks and share what they learned and how it applies to team engagement and commitment.
