Team Development
Suggestions to Start
1. Define a great team and what attributes make up a great team. Once this is established, have people send weekly emails to support that definition and to copy everybody on the team. This can be risky as people can be judgmental in terms of people’s commitments and actions, but the idea is to have people identify positive actions they have taken.
More Aggressive Suggestions
1. Have the team read My Iceberg is Melting , by John Kotter. 2. Have the team then read The Ideal Team Player , by Patrick Lencioni. 3. These two books will fuel insight into what great teammates need to do. Have people meet in a peer-to-peer or group setting sharing specifically what they learned and what they’ve successfully applied as a result of those readings.
