ARABELLA (CONT'D)

It’s mostly second, some third degree all the way up to his knee. MANNY You okay? Cause I got a guy downstairs I need to take back to camp and deal with -- ARABELLA Yeah --

He starts to walk away, then --

ARABELLA (CONT'D)

I’m not going to Florida.

He turns.

ARABELLA (CONT'D) Today ... on that dozer ... I was a part of something. I want to be a part of this town. MANNY Baby, you don’t belong here. All there is is fire. I put you in diving when you were little because I liked the idea of you surrounded by water. Fire burns everything down and water saves it. Water’s gonna save you. Water’s your ticket out. ARABELLA I don’t need saving, Dad. And I don’t want out.

OFF Manny, taking this in.

EXT. MOUNTAIN - NIGHT 60 The Inmate crew with Cory and the remaining Cal Fire crews all hike down the mountain after a long night. They’re tired and hungry and quiet. They arrive at Base Camp and SEE: Moms, Dads and kids with makeshift signs, “THANK YOU, FIREFIGHTERS.” “WILDFIRE HEROES.” “YOUR SACRIFICE SAVED OUR HOMES.”
