This is the number one factor in how fast your home sells, so I bring all my experience and market data to bear on this decision. Preparing for listing Making your home look stunning is the secret to maximizing its value. I’ll advise you on which repairs and updates are worth it, and I’ll bring in designer home stagers to make your place truly shine. In many cases, the Compass Concierge program (see p. X) covers some or all of these up-front costs. I highly recommend moving out of your home at this point—it makes the entire sale process quicker, smoother, and easier on you. Marketing your home In today’s real estate world, the MLS (which powers sites like Zillow and Redfin) drives virtually all marketing. I’ll make your home stand out online with top-quality images and writing, done by experts I trust. I’ll also hold open houses, schedule broker tours, and spread the word about your home to my personal network of agents throughout the city. Negotiating offers This is where my international business experience and Harvard-trained negotiating skills come into play. There are no rules in this game, and I’ll use every tool at my disposal to get you multiple offers from qualified buyers, to maximize your chances of getting everything you want in the deal. Closing the deal At this point, everything is in the hands of the escrow and mortgage companies. However, I’ll still be by your side, ensuring that everything goes smoothly and that you know exactly what to expect and when. If last-minute problems come up, I’ll be the first to know and the first to find the solution.
