Bronze is a reflective surface whose color changes in different light. The material will also reflect colors of the room or the object it is close to. All finishes are patinaed. The patina pro - cess is a chemical oxidation subject to change in method of application and metal densities. Sample finishes are representative only. Final color or appearance cannot be guaranteed.

SEALERS + TOP COATS

We utilize both wax top coats and clear satin lacquer top coats. Both offer advantages and disadvantages. A wax top coat provides an archival quality finish. As a living finish, the wax coat enables the metal to darken and age underneath and through the wax. The finish needs to be maintained by reapplying additional wax from time to time. Should damage occur, a wax finish is easier to retouch. Waxed surfaces need to be cared for and treated like a fine piece of wood fur - niture; coasters should be used, spills should be wiped up immediately, etc. A clear lacquer top coat offers more protection and requires less main- tenance. Wax may be applied over the lacquer for additional protection. Damage, such as scratches, can be more complex to repair as the lacquer may need to be entirely removed. The color tone of the metal will be preserved to a much greater extent than with a wax finish. We recom - mend lacquer top coats for hospital- ity, high use areas, households with children or any surface that will be used for dining/eating. Our catalog and website indi- cates our recommended top coat for each item. Please contact us to assure that your top coat suits your lifestyle and preference.
