Metsä Board Holds Inauguration Ceremony at Husum Pulp Mill Metsä Board, part of Espoo, Finland based Metsä Group, announced the inauguration of its new pulp mill in Husum, Sweden. The mill’s new recovery boiler and turbine will allow the mill’s bio-based energy production to increase and electricity self-sufficiency to reach over 80 percent. The total value of the investment was approximately EUR 380 million.

will house the operation and maintenance staff on the same floor. “This will help us establish a new integration of technicians, engineers, maintenance and operators all working together,” Winblad von Walter said. An investment program is also underway at the Husum mill to increase the annual production capacity of folding boxboard by around 200,000 tonnes. The investment is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2023. The Metsä Board Husum mill produces folding box- board, uncoated white kraftliner and bleached chemical pulp.
