September is National Preparedness Month and a great reminder to plan for emergencies such as natural disasters, power outages, and illness. Ready.gov has an abundance of resources that can help your family create a plan, build a preparedness kit, and find local resources.
When discussing your family ’ s emergency plan try to keep the following in mind:
• How will we receive emergency alerts?
What is our shelter plan?

• What is our evacuation plan?
• What is our family communication plan?
• What do we need to include in our emergency preparedness kit? • How can we provide for our pets during emergencies?
Ready.gov also has resources for business owners including resource management, training, business impact analysis tools, and more.
