Welding Symbols Application of American National Standard Welding Symbols Desired Weld Symbol Symbol Meaning
Symbol indicates fillet weld on arrow side of the joint.
Symbol indicates square-groove weld on other side of the joint.
Symbol indicates bevel-groove weld on both sides of joint. Breaks in arrow indicate bevels on upper member of joint. Breaks in arrows are used on symbols designating bevel and J-groove welds.
