How to use an electric hedge trimmer 1 Check the weather – never cut in wet weather

Hedges and bushes can quickly become untidy if left to grow. To keep them looking their best our range of hedge trimmers has been designed for easy use and safe handling. If you’re not used to using a hedge trimmer it can seem quite daunting. That’s why we’ve made sure all Flymo hedge trimmers come with a comprehensive range of safety features. All our products have a two-hand safety switch that needs to be pressed to make the product work, preventing accidental starting and the majority of our hedge trimmer range have debris guards to keep your hands away from the cutting blade and protect from falling debris. We would always recommend to wear gloves and goggles when using a hedge trimmer. Neat edges make great hedges INTRODUCTION TO ELECTRIC HEDGE TRIMMERS

How to choose a hedge trimmer Power – Determining the best product for the job depends on the sort of hedge you have. For hedges that are cut regularly or branches that are quite thin, a lower powered hedge trimmer should be suitable. If your hedges are quite dense then choose a model with more power. Blade length – If you have a small hedge choose a blade under 50cm. For larger hedges, the longer the blade the more you can cut so choose one of the larger products. Teeth Spacing – The space between the teeth dictates the thickness of the branches you can cut. The more space between the teeth, the thicker the branches you can cut.

Precision Cutting – For a faster, neater finish choose a hedge trimmer that has a diamond ground, double action blade. High Hedges – If your hedges are quite high then consider a trimmer with an extended reach handle specially designed to trim taller hedges with ease. The Flymo SabreCut hedge trimmer can be extended to a length of 3 metres! Weight – Make sure you choose a trimmer that isn’t too heavy as you could spend a lot of time carrying it.

and methodically – rushing can lead to accidents
