be sufficient? No, three times are necessary to burn that china that thg gold and the crimson may be brought out more beautifully and then fastened there to Stay. Our trials are burnt into us once, twice, thrice, and by God’s grace, these beautiful colors are there. If you, are having sorrow today, be comforted and know that God will not allow more fire to be used in your life than is necessary for the fulfilling of His plan and purpose for you. —Milo F. Jamison. Equipped for Traveling “No good thing will he withhold” (Psa. 84:11). “That the man of God may b e ... thoroughly furnished unto all good works” (2 Tim. 3:17). We would not start on a journey in the physical life w i t h o u t asking whether we lack anything that we should have. Yet many of us are willing to undertake thè journey in spiritual life with o n l y the bare necessities. There are days when we will need extra equipment and if we are lacking in patience, forgiveness, endurance or love, there is always God’s store-house Of supply where we may secure what we nèed by earnest, devoted prayer. Let us avail ourselves of this abundant supply. — Christian Advocate. The Process of Fellowship “Glory ye in his holy name ... Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore” (Psa. 105:3, 4). “The life of fellowship with God can not be built up in a day. It begins with the habitual reference of all to Him, hour by hour. But it moves on to more and longer periods of com munion; and it finds its consumma tion and joy in days and nights of in tercession, waiting, and holy inter course.” Let us permit the Lord to thus hallow our lives tlrough this sacred practice.— F. B. Meyer.

will corné of itself; it must be made the object of special desire and prayer and faith and practice. —Andrew Murray. The Perilous Moment “Stand fast . . . and be not en tangled” (Gal. 5:1). Always remain alert to the fact that where anyone has g o n e back is exactly where we all may go back. You have borne the burden and heat of the day, been through the big test, now beware of the undertime. In the flush of self-sufficiency one may say: “Now that I have been through the supreme crisis, it is not likely that I shall turn to the things of the world.” It is the least- likely thing that is the peril. The Bible characters never fell on their weak points but on their strong ones; unguarded strength is double weakness. —The Prairie Pastor. Toilers with God “We then, as workers together with him” (2 Cor. 6:1). God can grow trees, and lift moun tains, and fill space with stars, and people the earth, and weigh the na tions as dust in the balance, and fill the earth with His glory; but He has so arranged things that He needs our help in the salvation of a lost world in comforting the broken hearted. He needs our help in making the desert place blossom as the rose for those out of whose lives the light has gone and into whose lives the night has come. Let us help God with His work. —Southern Christian Advocate. Burnt to Beauty “He shall purify... them as gol d... that they may offer'unto the Lord an offering in righteousness” (Mai. 3:3). It is said that the finest china in the world is burned at least three times. Why does it go through that intense fire? Would not one or two burnings

Seven Needs for This Day “If ye abide in me ... ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you” (John 15:7). Just for today, my Lord, I ask, For needed strength to do Thy will As I perform each daily task, And all life’s varied calls fulfill. O give me, Lord, a lowly heart, A loyal mind, a quenchless zeal, Thy wisdom, peace and joy impart, And on my labors set Thy seal. —A. Gardner. Here is cause for joy and thanks giving. For God not only selected us for a holy company, He\also blue printed our ultimate goal-—"adoption of children by Jesus Christ to him self.” The pattern Which God has marked out is that of complete like ness to Jesus Christ—“to be conformed to the image of his Son.” The plan which gave the Son will never be met until we reflect His likeness. “Work this conforming work, O God; Care not how much of self and flesh Uprooted and dethroned must be! Let only Christ be seen in me.” —Gospel Herald. Christian Humility “Serving the Lord with all humility of mind” (Acts. 20:19). When a man consents with his will, his mind, and his affections, to be the form, the vessel in which the life and glory of God are to work and manifest themselves, he sees that humility is simply acknowledging the truth ef his position as creaturé, and yielittsf to God His place. In the life of the a&rnest Christian, of him who pursues and professes holiness, hu mility ought to be the chief mark of his uprightness. It is not a thing that Conformed to His Image “Having predestinated us” (Eph. 1:5),
