QUE.: Do the saved go immedi ately to Heaven when they die? The Scriptures teach positively that a true child of God goes immediately to Heaven at the time of physical dissolution of body and soul. 2 Corin thians 5:8 gives us that assurance: “We are confident. . . and willing. .. to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” (cf. Phil. 1:23 and other passages of Scripture.) Luke 16:22 tells us that the angels receive the spirits of the departing saints—a comforting thought, that they take our spirits home to Heaven and the presence of God. They are our ministers, “ministering spirits, sent forth to minister fof them who shall be heirs of salvation” (Heb. 1:14). They guard us here on earth, and take us to Heaven when we die. “The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them” (Psa. 34:7). “For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone” (Psa. -91:11).

QUE.: What is the1meaning of Ezekiel 37, which tells of the vision of the valley of dry bones? Verses 11-14 of this chapter explain the vision which God gave to Ezekiel. The whole passage speaks of the resurrection of Israel. They have long been buried in the many countries of the. world; but even now we see the beginning of the restoration of this ancient people to their own land. The progress of the Zionist Movement dur ing the past decade is one of the most significant “signs of the times,” all of which point to the return of Christ to the earth to reign. When He does come, Ezekiel 37 will be literally fulfilled, and Israel will be restored to her covenant rights, and established in her own land.
