This ensures that the bearing surface is tightly controlled in the graduation of allowable error and will not deviate from the mean plane beyond the allowable limits. Deviation beyond the allowable graduation limits will introduce an error in the surface flatness beyond the functional limits. This flatness deviation control enables the surface of the angle plate to support the workpiece in such a manner as not to introduce errors due to nonuniform support beneath the workpiece or squareness errors from the adjacent sides.
