3. Climate Challenge Program Under NSAA’s long-running Climate Challenge , participating ski areas voluntarily:

• Develop greenhouse gas inventories .

Set carbon reduction goals .

• Undertake energy-saving and advocacy actions. By 2018:

• Scope 1 and 2 emissions totaled 167,251 MTCO₂e for participating resorts.

• Combined on-site carbon reduction projects and renewable energy credits achieved cumulative savings of ~252,169 MTCO₂ since 2011.
