2026 Spring & Summer - Recreation and Community Guide

Volunteering

Volunteering is a great way for teens to begin to build a resume, earn school volunteer hours, make new friends, gain references, and develop leadership skills. Museum Youth Volunteer and Mentorship Program Staff at Norfolk County’s museums know that youth volunteers can offer something unique to our summer camp and March Break programs. Whether you have a special talent to share or just enjoy working with kids, we would love to have you participate in our Youth Volunteer and Mentorship Program. All youths are required to attend an orientation day at one of the museums before beginning to volunteer. Volunteers will be scheduled based on need. Museum Volunteers Orientation Day Ages: 14+ years of age This short session includes an introduction to the museum, Health and Safety and AODA training, a fun museum challenge, and a pizza lunch. After successful completion of the museum orientation, youth volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in programming. Email norfolkheritage@norfolkcounty.ca to register.
