Erika Jensen
Ms. Jensen is the Commission’s designee to the federal Aquatic Nuisance Species Task Force. She has a Master’s degree in environmental management from Duke University and a Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. Eric Brown
Erika Jensen was appointed Interim Executive Director of the Great Lakes Commission in August 2020, having been a member of the Commission staff in various roles since 2006. In addition to her recent appointment, she serves as the Commission’s aquatic invasive species program manager. As such, she is the coordinator for the Great Lakes Panel on Aquatic Nuisance Species, providing strategic, administrative, and programmatic support. She also provides staff support to the Invasive Mussel Collaborative and Great Lakes Phragmites Collaborative and works with a variety of partners while managing other AIS projects focused on invasive species prevention and control.
Eric Brown leads the Great Lakes Commission’s external relations program, working with elected and appointed officials and with key agencies and organizations at the state, local, and federal levels. He is closely integrated with the Commission’s policy and communications teams and
works to enhance collaboration with policymakers and stakeholders from throughout the Great Lakes Basin.
