Mike Piskur
University of Illinois at Chicago. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign and studied at the Budapest University of Economic Sciences and Public Administration in Budapest, Hungary.
Mike Piskur is a program manager with the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors & Premiers, overseeing regional initiatives on maritime transportation and aquatic invasive species. He is also part of the project team developing the Great Lakes Impact Investment Platform. He spearheaded the completion of the first regional maritime transportation strategy and the first cumulative impact assessment for the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Basin. He also coordinates public communications through presentations and published articles. Prior to joining GSGP, he worked in several roles focused on energy and water efficiency, green building certification, and waste reduction. He has also worked as a freelance journalist, researcher, and political analyst focused on energy and water issues. Mr. Piskur holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Planning & Policy from the
