Require testing of lead in certain school buildings in Lake County; require action be taken if levels exceed federal lead action level Establish maximum contaminant levels for PFAS in water provided by public water systems Require independent testing of Lake Michigan water for presence and concentration of pollutants such as heavy metals, chemicals, microplastics and pharmaceuticals Require testing of drinking water in schools of Lake County once every two years Allow adjustment of water/wastewater utility rates and charges to recover costs of infrastructure improvements, including replacement of lead service lines and projects related to health, safety and environmental requirements Recognize certain shoreline below natural ordinary high water mark as private property; establish rights of beach use by the public and rights of property owners along Lake Michigan; allow for public recreational activities, but not non-transient activities, on shores deemed private property Declare that state of Indiana owns all of Lake Michigan within state’s boundaries in trust for use and enjoyment of all citizens; provides that owner of land bordering lake does not have exclusive right to use water or land below ordinary high water mark
