Housekeeping, Welcome, and Introductions (3) Featured Topic: Meeting Binational Goals – Improving the Management of Nutrients in the Region (40) In 2019, the GLLC selected the problem of nutrient pollution as the focus for the inaugural Patricia Birkholz Institute for Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Policy. The Caucus’s Task Force on Nutrient Management leads the organization’s efforts to take coordinated regional action to reduce the incidence of polluted runoff that carries excess nutrients into the Great Lakes and other waterbodies. Wisconsin Sen. André Jacque , chair of the task force, will report on the model policies recommended by the task force and plans for action in 2021. Following the task force’s report, Santina Wortman of the EPA Great Lakes National Program Office will present on the binational progress that Canada and the U.S. are making to achieve the goals for managing nutrients that were established under the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement.
