SAFETY & ELECTION INFORMATION
SECURE IN EVERY SEASON
» At night, keep outdoor lights on or use motion sensors to discourage unwanted visitors. These small steps help protect not only your property but also your neighborhood. The Carver County Sheriff’s Office encourages everyone to look out for each other. If something doesn’t seem right, report it—even if you’re unsure whether it's important. By staying alert and working together, we can help ensure Chanhassen remains a safe and welcoming community in every season.
As the weather warms and windows open, many of us spend more time outside, whether walking dogs, biking or working in the yard. Unfortunately, this is also the time of year when crimes of opportunity—like thefts from unlocked vehicles and open garages— tend to increase. A few simple habits can make a big difference. » Lock your car, even when it’s in your driveway. » Close garage doors when you’re not nearby and bring valuables inside instead of leaving them visible.
