Welcome to the February Edition
Whilst it’s definitely still Winter in the UK, there’s hints of Spring in the air as the days get longer, and the sun has been blazing more often than not, with temperatures in London hitting a very reasonable 14’C this past week! It’s safe to say the darkest days are firmly behind us and we can look forward to lots over the coming months – much of which will be detailed in this newsletter, so read on to find out more. It’s been a really positive start to the year with the MRG Values Workshop successfully delivered to the majority of the UK business, with a couple more sessions in the pipeline for those who have not yet taken part. The feedback so far has been great, and there will be opportunities to feedback to the team further in this document. of the MRG Newsletter!
MARKET COMMENTARY
As a group, we started February really strongly in week 1, but the middle part of the month has proven to be more challenging. This serves as a reminder that success is really hard earned, but that results can drop off quickly if focus is lost. We therefore can’t be complacent! That said, we have assembled the most fantastic group of people, we believe that our strategies that we outlined in the last newsletter remain sound, and we know that we can return to target conversion levels as we enter March. MRG Whitepaper A huge congratulations to Emily and the marketing team, who launched this year’s first MRG whitepaper titled, ‘What New Challenges & Opportunities Can We Anticipate in the Staffing Industry.’ You can use this report as a business development tool. It can be shared with your key clients using the link below. Emily has shared an email with a template copy which you can use alongside the report – please feel free to adapt to your tone of voice. The second purpose of this whitepaper is to position MRG as a thought leader in the hiring industry. Please download the report. There is a short form to complete for data capture, so please always share it as a link. Click the image on the right to access the White Paper. If you have any questions regarding the whitepaper, please do not hesitate to contact Emily. MRG Content Calendar The content calendar covers a wide range of topics and formats including when the job carousels are scheduled, new placement announcements, the sharing industry news articles, and will also be used as a place to celebrate MRG Culture, highlighting what a great place we are to work. If you have any inspiration for content you can get in touch with Emily, but she will also approach different teams regularly for content ideas. This is something you can work on together, to build and develop your own personal brand. For example, an interesting industry article could be shared with a quote from you, MRG then posts this on our platforms, which serves as a great piece of personal branding and gets your name out there. Over the next few months, you can also expect to see a range of Global News – new office launches, new global clients, international holidays, whitepapers, CSR work, and blogs from the MRGPA team.
Upcoming Training Sessions Planning & Organising w/ Ben Duffill 23rd March, 9 – 10 am GMT/ 5 – 6pm MYT
This month, each team has rolled out an extensive Linkedin Training Programme, this is self- managed, and you will be encouraged to complete a section each month. This is really valuable training even if you think you know everything there is to know about Linkedin and will help you reach further, giving you useful tools for Business Development, building your Personal Brand, and ensure you are making the most of the Recruiter tools. Everything you need to find can be accessed on the shared drive under Training & PDP, or you can access the Powerpoint with the hyperlinks by clicking the image below:
This session is suitable for anyone – not just billers! We will be hosting at a time that hopefully the majority of the business can attend, but if you can’t make it, it will be recorded and saved in the Training folder. Some of the topics covered: • Eisenhower Matrix • Scheduling and making the most of your time effectively • Balancing Conflicting Responsibilities • Prioritising your to-do list
Keep an eye out for the Teams invite coming this week.
As always, you can find recordings of previous Training sessions in the Training & PDP folder here.
Ongoing MRG Values Workshops Our company values are the guiding principles which set us apart from everyone else and help us work towards a common business goal. So far we’ve had 3 successful workshops in person, and there will be at least two more sessions delivered remotely next month. If you have not been able to attend yet Alison will be in touch to arrange your workshop. The feedback has been positive, and a number of people have asked for a copy of our Values from both the Client and Employee focus for their own reading/business development. Click the image on the right to read the document.
Got an Idea? We want to hear it!
We’re launching an internal ideas inbox as of this month – shout out to Nicky for this great idea! It’s a tool for everyone to get involved in the growth and change within the business. For example, if you think of any specific training you, or your team would like to see, or you have an idea around socials, business improvement, or anything else ad hoc – all ideas are valid and welcome, and we want to hear it. Please send a note to ideas@mrgpeople.co.uk
MRG Value Nominations We’re pleased to announce we will be launching MRG Values Nominations where you will be able to nominate your fellow colleagues when you see them living our shared values – both inside and outside of work. There will be recognition and rewards available to those who have been championed. Please send any nominations to the Marketing team here: ideas@mrgpeople.co.uk

The Malaysian team (Ashley, Jackson and J) went out and celebrated Chinese New Year over a Chinese meal and tossed Yee Sang, a prosperity dish which translates to increase in abundance. The higher you toss, the higher your life and social standard will improve and the bigger a mess you make symbolises the bigger the grounds all these well wishes will cover in your life.
Malaysia had a double celebration this month with Thaipusam and Chap Goh Meh (Chinese Valentines’ Day) falling on the same day.
